Five Vietnamese food you should try in Hanoi

Vietnamese cuisine is regarded as one of the healthiest food in the world. It uses fresh ingredients and use minimum dairy and oil. With this, it is no doubt that Vietnamese food is worth trying when in Vietnam.

Here are the five Vietnamese food you should not miss:

1. Pho

Pho is a Vietnamese rice noodle soup. It comes with vegetables and meat. Its meat can either be chicken or beef. When beef is added in the rice noodles, it is called “pho bo”. When chicken is added, it is called “pho ga”.

2. Vietnamese stir-fry noodle with chicken

We ordered this on our first night in Hanoi. This is a healthy recipe for those people who are very much into a healthy diet. Ingredients come from fresh vegetables which could include tomatoes, kai lan, and others. These are mixed together with noodles and meat.

3. Bun cha

Bun cha is a dish of grilled pork and noodle. The pork’s sauce has a rich combination tastes of sweet and sour. The sweet taste comes from sugar while the sour taste comes from the vinegar.

4. Egg coffee

Egg coffee, popularly known as ca phe trung in Vietnam, has a rich creamy texture. It is made of egg yolk, condensed milk and robusta. It was invented before when there was milk scarcity in the region.

5. Banh mi

Bahn mi means bread. This Vietnamese sandwich is made from baguette. It is stuffed with meat and vegetables. Usually the vegetables put inside are tomatoes, carrots, cucumber and coriander. Together with these vegetables, can be an egg or chicken or pate. It is available in restaurants, and sometimes it can be bought in the streets of Vietnam.
