Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane, Australia


Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane, Australia is the oldest and the largest koala sanctuary in the world. It is 12 kilometers away from Brisbane City and is open from 9am to 5pm. The entrance fee for adult is 34.20 AUD while 19.80 AUD is the ticket price for a child.

With 130 koalas, a guest would be able to enjoy holding one of the koalas in Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.


Not only koalas are the available animals in Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. There are also a wide array of Australian native animals that can be seen in this place. These animals are as follows:

Kangaroo. It is a marsupial animal that is indigenous to Australia. A male kangaroo can reach up to 2-meter tall and weigh about 90 kilograms.


Wallaby. This may look like a kangaroo, that because they belong to the same family. However, you will notice the difference between a kangaroo and a wallaby through its size. A wallaby is smaller than a kangaroo.


Tasmanian Devil. This animal is regarded as the largest carnivorous marsupial in the world. It was before native in mainland Australia, however now, it can only be find in the island state of Tasmania.


Wombat. It is another marsupial animal that is native in Australia. It is about 1 meter in length with a short and thick tail.

Platypus. This mammal is one of the five extant species of monotremes that lays egg instead of giving  birth to its young.

Aside from the above animals, you will also encounter different types of birds at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary such as cassowary, lorikeet, laughing kookaburra, barking owl and many others.
