How to protect yourself and others from coronavirus

Coronavirus is a virus related to SARS virus. It has originated in Wuhan, China last December. Cases of infected people in China alone has reached to thousands. There are also reported cases of coronavirus in over ten countries.

People who are infected with coronavirus will have mild to moderate upper respiratory tract illness, runny nose, cough, sore throat, headache and fever that can last for a couple of days. There is no specific treatment for coronavirus. Most likely its symptoms will go on its own. However, if you do notice these symptoms on you, it is best that you consult a doctor. Drink plenty of fluids and get enough rest and sleep as much as possible.

There are also people who are infected by Wuhan virus, but did not show any symptoms. It is advisable to go under observation for two weeks especially if you have traveled to China specifically in the city of Wuhan.

In addition to the above infographic, people are being advised to avoid “unprotected” contact with live animals and to thoroughly cook meat and eggs. Coronavirus are said to have come from the animals and spread to the humans.
