“The Giving Tree” by Shel Silverstein

‘The Giving Tree” is a famous book for children. It shows a very giving tree.

Summary

The boy has loved the tree. He enjoyed climbing on its trunk and swinging on its branches. The tree always gave the boy what he wants starting when he was young until he was old. What a selfless tree it was!

  1. I strongly dislike this book. I think the “boy” who never matures emotionally is a horrific example for children! At least your activities suggest to children that thanks is due to the tree, but I would not expose them to this story. There are hundreds of better books!!
